SMOKY BAR- NIGHT
Acoustic guitar performance off the left of a conversation happening between two girls at a table under a hanging lamp.
The two girls stare at their beers and swirl it around on the table until one looks up at the other and starts a conversation.
Girl #1: Is that your third one? (Looking at her hand as she swirls it on the table?)
Girl#2:Yeah, so what of it?
Girl#1: We’ve been here twenty minutes; I can’t even start a conversation, between your hour-long gulps.
(Girl#2 Just looks at the guitar player and sways to the indie folk music)
Girl#1: I just don’t get why you’re doing this to me? (in an irritated voice)
Girl#2: Doing what? I’m not gulping you down am I?
Girl #1: No..but-(Girl#2 interrupts)
(This is where everything gets heated, I think a beat could get marked by a change in camera angle, more direct in your face, instead of a wide shot, and maybe even more dimmer direct lighting.) Girl#2: But what? Huh? but what? There is always a “but”.
Girl#1: I wasn’t trying to start an argument.
Girl #2: Really? Because it sure does seem like that’s what you were aiming for.
Girl #1: But- (girl #2 interrupts again)
Girl#2: Here we go again.
Girl#1: Why are we even doing this?
(a beat could be emphasized with silence in the back ground. The music stops and the breaking point emerges.) Girl#2: I don’t even know, it seems pointless, talking in circles every waking moment of my life. (sighs)
Look, There are two people in this world, There are those that sharpen their knife, and there are those who cut with their knife. You’ve been sharpening for quite sometime now, I’m ready to cut.
Girl#1. Well, just don’t cut yourself.
(girl #1 Grabs her affects and walks out leaving Girl #2 chugging her beer.)

Alex Allen is a local artist.
Alex could be used as a representation of the south bend art scene. The documentary may be something of a realistic feel. Giving light on what Art means to her. Maybe even an inspirational piece on how art is a reflection of daily life, and the emotion that she feels as she is painting. Giving some depth to something that people take for granted or think is a waste of time.
Some Questions for Alex Allen would be.
